Elden Ring Nightreign DLC The Forsaken Hollows adds 2 new characters and 2 more bosses when it launches in December

Elden Ring Nightreign DLC ‘The Forsaken Hollows’ Revealed at State of Play Japan

Sony’s first major State of Play Japan showcase may have been low-key overall, but it ended with exciting news for FromSoftware fans. The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, titled The Forsaken Hollows, was officially revealed, promising new playable characters, bosses, and a fresh area for players to explore.

New Playable Characters

Launching on December 4, the DLC introduces two new characters:

  • The Scholar: Described in a PlayStation Blog post as “an academic who walks the Lands Between. Boasting impressive arcane levels, he gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation.”

  • The Undertaker: “An abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord. Boasting impressive strength and faith, she sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency.” (Presumably no relation to the WWE legend.)

New Bosses

The DLC will include two new bosses, though little is revealed about them beyond this number. Players are encouraged to check out the trailer for more details, as the official write-up provides no additional information.

The New Area: Shifting Earth, The Great Hollow

One notable addition is the new environment, The Great Hollow, part of the Shifting Earth region. It is described as:

"A great cavity in the depths of Limveld. The hollow is strewn with exotic ruins and temples; sacred towers denoting the remains of an ancient people; and crystals that exude a cursed, life-draining miasma."

FromSoftware fans can expect to explore this ominous and mysterious area when the DLC launches next month.
